Each mode is accompanied by a unique set of tools, such as the SPES Academic-Award System (AAAS), the Student Essay Reference Manual (SERM), and SPES Essay Authoring Software (ESS).The AAAS evaluates the student's level of proficiency by testing students on their readiness to complete their SPES Essay Topics. The SPES Essay Topic Advisor is a new tool that is used to enable students to test their essays on SPES Essay Topics in the SPES Essay Competitions. The SPES Essay Competitions is timed competitions where students are evaluated based on their performance in completing an essay on the assigned SPES Essay Topics. The judges review the assignm ent and grade the student based on whether the student was able to properly complete the assigned SPES Essay Topics or not.The SPES Essay Topic Advisor is compatible with all SPES Essay Topics and encourages students to take the time to ensure that they have read the guidelines for their SPES Essay Topic thoroughly before submitting their essay. To do this, the student is asked to submit their essay by clicking on the appropriate SPES Essay Topic in the SPES Online Center. The student will then be required to select which essay topic is relevant and apply it to their essay. The Essay Categories available in the SPES Online Center includes Ethics, History, History and Society, Knowledge and Society, Philosophy, Social Sciences, Politics, Religion, Technology, and Writing. After selecting the appropriate SPES Essay Topic, the student will be required to select the type of essay that they wish to write, including the length of the essay, what style of writing is appropriate, and how th ey want to format their essay.Once the student selects the SPES Essay Topic, the SPES Essay Authoring Software is used to determine how they should format their essay. The software allows the student to explore several different styles of writing on SPES Essay Topics before deciding which one works best for them. Students can choose between short essays and longer essays. The SPES Academic-Award System is then used to create an essay assignment with an Author Rating and a Writing Rating.The SPES Essay Topics provided to students in the SPES Essay Competitions can be found in the SPES Academic-Award System. The Author Rating is determined by how well the student wrote on the SPES Essay Topic and determines how much of an impact the essay had on the judges during the competition. The Writing Rating is used to rate the 'clarity' of the essay and to determine how effective the essay is at communicating its ideas.The SPES Essay Authoring Software allows the student to create a link betwe en the SPES Academic-Award System and the SPES Essay Topic to prove that they understood the SPES Essay Topic guidelines. The SPES Academic-Award System is used by all essay topics and requires students to complete the corresponding SPES Essay Authoring Service before submitting their essay.The Student Essay Reference Manual is using to guide students through the process of writing a SPES Essay. The Manual can be found online and includes the guidelines and helpful advice for students when it comes to preparing and submitting an essay.The SPES Essay Authoring Service can be accessed by using the Internet or a computer.
